Harrigans
Based on the traditional values of family, friends and community, Harrigan’s is designed to appeal to a broad range of visitors. From the moment you walk through the stunning lead-light panelled front doors, you’re made to feel at home. This pub has all the features of its brothers in New South Wales and Queensland as the home of outstanding hospitality, great live entertainment and a delicious selection of Irish and Australian bistro meals.
All this and we haven’t even mentioned the view! The pub is set on the banks of the picturesque Manning River and with the surrounding mountains as a backdrop, our guests are immediately put at ease gazing out to the gentle swell of the water. Inside the pub is stocked with handpicked bric-a-brac, a warm colour scheme, wrought ironwork, exposed brickwork and beautiful leadlight features.
After a pint, or three, of Guinness, you can partake in a sumptuous meal from the bistro with a good mixture of Irish and Australian dishes as well as plenty of mouth-watering seafood selections.
If a day isn’t long enough to take in the true culture of this little town, consider staying a while at Harrigan’s River Lodge. The new 4-star motel style accommodation is surrounded by tropical gardens and guests can enjoy the Grecian style pool, a game of golf or launch their boat onto the water for a spot of fishing.

Tallow-wood Rural Retreat , Krambach
Tallow-wood is a fully self contained 3 bedroom house which sleeps up to 8. It is on a working beef property in a quiet undulating valley, providing easy access to beaches and the Barringtons area for scenic views, horseriding and canoeing. Winter is a wonderful time to be at Tallow-wood. First thing in the morning there can be a frost but with the continued dry weather on the east coast the days are just lovely. This is a good time to go horseriding at Camp Cobark. It is only 50 minutes country driving the other side of Gloucester on the Scone road. This is also a nice time to explore the forest roads, and the lookouts in the Barrington Tops should be really clear now even if a little chilly. If the sea temperature stays at 20C then a brave dip at Forster would tone up the body. Whatever your interests there are many places to vist around the area. Tallow-wood is “central” between the Barringtons and the beach. And at the end of a day’s outing Tallow-wood is a relaxing environment.
